Alessandro is an experienced manager and angel investor in the digital, media and tech industries.
As a manager, in recent years he covered various senior roles at Conte.it, a subsidiary of Admiral, a FTSE 100 insurance multinational. Among his main roles and responsibilities, he supervised the launch of Conte’s brand, was Head of Marketing, Product and Commercial Development, and is now Head of Innovation. He has strong expertise in marketing, customer experience automation, business development and sales.
Alongside, Alessandro’s passion for innovation and start-ups has led him to invest in a number of start-ups around the world, which he has offered practical and managerial advice mainly on marketing, business development and internationalisation issues.
Alessandro is an avid traveller and speaks fluent German, French, Italian, English and Portuguese.
Marina has deep experience with investment analysis across stages, with a focus on agritech and foodtech. It is her mission to help clients capture value in a continuously changing world.
She has been active in financial markets since 2004, working across assets on the buy and sell side. In recent years, Marina has been focussing on venture capital and technology, advising on funding rounds and M&A transactions of startups and scaleups. Having worked in several European and South American countries, she has vast experience with illiquid assets, special situations and companies operating in high political risk environments.
Marina holds a Master of Science in Economics & Business from Erasmus University Rotterdam and has passed Level I of the CFA Program. She speaks Dutch, English, Italian and Spanish and loves dance, horse riding and the outdoors in general.
Simon is a global expert in the online travel and vacation rental industries.
He has worked closely with companies in various travel sectors and has held several key positions including CEO of Interhome between 2005 and 2014, president of Phocuswright until late 2017, CEO of Biketec, deputy CEO of the Hotelplan group, and various high-level management appointments at Swissport International, a worldwide leader in airport ground handling and a former Swissair Group company.
Additionally, Simon has been involved in strategic planning with many of the leading and up-and-coming players in the vacation rental sector, has served as a board member for Inntopia, and has held a position as a nonexecutive board member for HomeAway prior to its purchase by Expedia. He is passionate about identifying new talents and mentoring founders of industry start-ups, and has invested in many of them. Simon currently serves as an advisor to Rented.com, Transparent, Properly, HelloHere, Travelnews.ch and others.
Simon runs and owns AJL Consulting LLC, which advises members of the holiday rental industry on how to become more qualified and effective.
